Roger Ebert: A million years ago.
We drank in the same bars. I think this photo was in a downtown watering hole called Ricardo's.
I first met Roger in the late 1960s; we both hung out at a magical movie theater in the Loop called The Clark.
I sometimes worked the ticket window or candy counter for free, just so
I could hang out in the place. Once I even had to enter the forbidden
"Little Gals Gallery" to help break up a fight between two of the butch gals.
I know I got my entire knowledge of film history sitting in the dark at the Clark, I presume Roger did as well.
