Pam Grier: I first noticed Pam while working freelance at American International Pictures a long time ago.

Pam worked the switchboard. I was told early on that it was impossible to call out of the office. Pam was always running off to audition for those outrageous films she began appearing in. “Black Mama, White Mama,” “The Big Bird Cage” and as an extra in Roger Ebert’s classic “Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.”

 We both worked the Oscars the year a friend of mine became the nude streaker, and later was killed in a bad drug deal becouse of porn star "Johnny Wadd".

Pam handing out the golden statues on stage, I was a filler. Fillers are paid to fill the seats; if the camera pans the audience there are no empty spots seen. Usually the movie stars wanted to snort some coke out in the limo.

It was all so very "Boogie Nights"
