Toni Basil: In the early 1970’s Hollywood she was already a legendary choreographer, whose reputation was widely known, but few in town had really experienced her intense style of dancing.

Allen Carr hired me to document her showcase presentation on the Sunset Strip, she had rented out the Troubadour and for one night only, she presented herself to the elite Hollywood chic.

It was the only list to be on that night; once again I witnessed an elaborate creation in the process of being born.

Toni went on to be in Easy Rider, the Monkee’s movie Head, and choreographed the Gap’s swing commercial.

She is also can be found in Cincinnati’s Rock and Roll Museum as a one hit wonder for her cheerleading classic called Mickey
